A Tragic Tale: This is Why I Hate Needles
I'm currently on IV antibiotics via PICC line (that's peripherally inserted central catheter) because I'm sick
They basically string this long tube up through a vein in your arm using a mix of incredible skill and ultrasound. I had to go to the hospital last Monday and as the nurse tried to insert, the first vein she was using decided to close up, and after four tries I had to go to radiology and have specialists put it in. The first vein they went for (and my fifth time being poked and threaded) well, that vein up and disappeared too. So on the sixth (and thankfully final try) they inserted it through the brachial vein. My arms are cover
